Overdue Updates!

Ghostbusters are Back!

It has been a while since out last update since we have been busy with day jobs, events, equipment development, and preparations for Dragon*Con 2010. Here is the quick rundown;

EVENTS!

We were pretty busy this spring with quite a few events. Things kicked off with Free Comic Book Day at the Deep in Huntsville where two busters came out to meet with the fans and pose for some pictures. About a week later the local boys in grey were in full force at the Good Day Kids Festival where we shook hands with the next generation of busters, and gave parents a good excuse to teach their children, “Who you gonna call?” Pictures of both events can be found on our Flicker account here:

NEW EQUIPMENT!

This summer we added a new piece of equipment to our arsenal; a new proton pack based on Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The pack is the fully upgraded version seen in the game including slime blower, meson collider, and A LOT of lights. Dragon*Con 2010!

This past labor day the Rocket City Ghostbuster made a special call to Atlanta Georgia for Dragon*Con 2010. During the convention we made our way around the hotels making several photo ops and on Saturday marched in the down town parade along with 80 other Ghostbusters and SEVEN Ectomobiles. That night the RCGB added another award to our mantel with Wayne was awarded the Golden Crunch Bar Award for Best Representation of a Ghostbuster by the GBfans staff! Free Comic Book Day! Saturday May 1st!

The boys in grey will be at The Deep Comic book store near Parkplace Mall this Saturday starting at eleven to help celebrate national Free Comic Book day. Come on by to get your picture with the RCGB, some members of the Huntsville Stormtroopers, and some of your favorite comic book heros as well!

Good Day at Lowe Mill

On Saturday May 8th from 12 - 5 Lowe Mill will be hosting the 4th annual Good Day Kids Festival, offering children an afternoon of fun, color, learning, dancing and celebrating youth. Past festivals have included field games, a Millennium Falcon, drum workshops, archaeology exhimits, jugglers, musical guest and this year will see an appearance from Huntsville's favorite paranormal eliminators! Tickets are $5 (under five are Free). So if you looking for great way to spend an afternoon with the kids be sure to stop by!

Yuri's Night 2010 and Facebook

This past Saturday Huntsville celebrated Yuri's Night at the Davidson Space and Rocket Center under one of the only 3 Saturn V rockets in existance. The party was an excellant time with DiscOasis and Foot Pound Force providing kicking music and appearences from the Alabama Storm Troopers, Maker's Local 256, and of course the Rocket City Ghostbusters. Yuri's Night April 10th 2010

RCGB Blog Now Up and Running!

Welcome to the new blog page for the Rocket City Ghostbusters, a costuming group located in Huntsville Alabama that has created replicas of the uniforms and props used by the actors in the original Ghostbuster films and makes public appearances as Huntsville's paranormal eliminators for charities and other events.
